Amazon transformed Seattle into the Emerald City for an immersive campaign launch celebrating the theatrical release of Wicked.
The evening began with a magical IRL event that reimagined Glinda's bubble through multi-sensory experiences, engaging the local community in an enchanted celebration of the film.
Amazon Live launched a livestream co-hosted by Glee alums Amber Riley and Kevin McHale, showcasing the partnership through feature film vignettes and custom content. The hosts announced an exclusive Prime Early Screening opportunity—giving Prime members access to Wicked in select theaters nationwide on November 18th, four days before the November 22nd global release. Tickets became available immediately via ozonamazon.com.
The livestream also featured shoppable Wicked-branded merchandise, with all products in the Amazon Live carousel donated to families at Mary's Place, a local Seattle foundation. Guests at the event explored an Oz-fied Understory pop-up featuring officially licensed merchandise and art installations by local Seattle artists.
The evening concluded with a choreographed pink and green light show at the Spheres, paying homage to the film's iconic lead characters. This launch event sparked "Oz on Amazon," a multi-platform campaign featuring custom activations across Amazon's ecosystem.
